About
Understand people. Build relevance. Create value. Communicate with purpose.
Wugah Shaddrack Selali is a Marketing Strategist, Brand Strategist, Strategic Communicator, Sports Marketing Professional and Researcher passionate about building brands that remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.

Marketing | Branding | Communication | Strategy | Research
His work sits at the intersection of marketing, branding, communication, strategy, research, culture and consumer behaviour. He is particularly interested in understanding why people connect with certain brands, why others lose relevance, and how organisations can transform attention into meaningful and sustainable relationships with their audiences.
Wugah approaches marketing beyond advertising and promotion. For him, marketing is fundamentally about understanding people, creating value, communicating meaningfully and building experiences that people remember. This philosophy has shaped his work across corporate brands, sports, entertainment, church communication, digital media, research and entrepreneurship.
Across sectors and brands
He serves as a Senior Marketing Executive at BBC Industrials, working across marketing, brand development, campaigns, digital communication and market development for a portfolio that includes Fine Nest Paints, Home Charm Paints, Leyland Paints, Gold Premium Acrylic Paint and WonderCoat.
In sports, he serves as Head of Marketing at IPC Volleyball Club, where he has contributed to the development of the club's brand, digital presence, fan engagement, content strategy, campaigns and commercial positioning. His work in sports has strengthened a firm belief: sport should not be viewed only as competition, but as a powerful entertainment, media, community and commercial property.
That perspective shapes his interest in the wider development of African sports, fan engagement, sponsorship, commercialisation, storytelling, brand equity and the sustainability of sports properties. His commentary on the Ghana Premier League, for instance, explores the league not merely as a football competition but as a brand that must continually create value for fans, sponsors, broadcasters and other stakeholders.
Research & strategic insights
Research is an important part of Wugah's professional identity. Through SSS Marketing Consult, he provides research and strategic consulting support, helping organisations make better decisions through evidence, consumer insights and market understanding.
His research interests span marketing, branding, communication, consumer behaviour, sports marketing, international marketing and organisational strategy. His approach is not simply about collecting data. He is interested in what the data means, how it connects to human behaviour and how organisations can translate insights into practical strategic decisions.
Communication, community and culture
As Social Media Manager for Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Madina, he contributes to the church's digital communication, content and online presence, using communication strategically to build community, strengthen identity and create engagement. He has also worked in entertainment marketing, managing the marketing affairs of gospel musician Ben Afful, and served as Senior Brand Consultant at SikaPave Consult, a financial consultancy organisation, alongside experience in education, research consulting and project management.
Academically, he holds a Master's-level background in Communication and International Marketing, with a continuing interest in research as a tool for understanding markets and informing strategic decisions.

Beyond the job title
Not only a marketer.
Wugah is also an entrepreneur and farmer, with interests in cassava and pig farming. Agriculture keeps him close to the realities of entrepreneurship, production, markets and value creation, a useful corrective to boardroom theory.
He is passionate about travelling, an interest that has broadened his appreciation of different cultures, markets and ways of life. For someone whose work revolves around understanding people, travel is another way of observing how culture influences consumption, communication, identity and brand perception.
He is Ghanaian, with Nigerian, Togolese and Beninese roots, a personal connection to the wider West African environment in which much of his professional interest sits.
Africa does not simply need more brands. It needs better brands.
Brands that understand their consumers. Brands that deliver on their promises. Brands that tell compelling stories, innovate, understand culture, and compete globally without losing the authenticity that makes them distinctive.
